Frequently Asked Puppy Questions

Our puppies are acquired from local, reputable breeders that we have long-standing relationships with. We meet the parents of the puppies and personally evaluate each litter and puppy prior to purchase. All of our breeders conduct thorough health testing on all their dogs and our puppies come with a health guarantee. For more information on our breeding partners, click here.

No, our deposits and payments are non-refundable, but they are fully transferable to another puppy if you no longer wish to move forward with the puppy you are matched with.

No, none of our puppies come with breeding rights. Our breeding partners also require that the dogs be spayed or neutered once they reach a certain age.

Yes! We deliver our puppies all across the US. Please see the chart below for delivery options and associated fees. To save on delivery fees, you may also come pick up your puppy from our training center in Charlotte, NC.

After the initial delivery and private in-person lessons, we offer unlimited follow up support via phone or email. You will also have access to our graduate services, including biweekly group lessons, pack walks, and boarding services. Out of town clients may also schedule virtual follow up lessons as needed.

Once we receive an application and deposit, you are placed on a waitlist to receive a puppy. Once potential matches are identified, a meet and greet is scheduled. This meeting can be done in-person or virtually. Once a match is made, the second payment is due to reserve the puppy.

We typically acquire Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, and Goldendoodles for our program. We typically acquire multigenerational Goldendoodles or F1B Goldendoodles which are often lower shedding and more hypoallergenic. We do not guarantee the coat type in our Goldendoodles as it’s nearly impossible to predict whether or not they will be fully hypoallergenic. You will have the option to meet and handle the puppy before purchasing.

Our puppies are trained using positive reinforcement! Read more about our training philosophy here.

Our puppies will receive all of their initial vaccinations and monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. We cover all the initial puppy vaccines and preventative care, but once your puppy returns home, you are responsible for any further veterinary costs.

Once you are matched with a puppy, we recommend you purchase health insurance. We recommend Trupanion.

Once the final payment is made, full ownership rights are transferred over to you. We have a standard Bill of Sale contract which will be sent prior to the scheduled delivery.

Yes! We only acquire puppies that have exceptional temperaments. Many of our Prodigies have gone onto service and therapy work. Many have been chosen for our service dog program and for other service dog programs as well. We do not guarantee that a puppy will make it as a service or therapy dog, as they are too young to formally assess for that type of work. If you have hopes to use your puppy for service or therapy work, we will help create a plan for their training and socialization and will conduct another temperament assessment when they return for their advanced obedience training.

If you already have a puppy or are on a waitlist to receive a puppy, you can still complete our puppy prodigy program! Inquire about pricing by scheduling a phone consultation!

Yes! Monthly visits can be arranged either in-person or virtually.

The average waiting period to be matched is 3 months. We may have potential matches available once a deposit is placed, but if not, it typically takes us a few months to find potential puppy prospects. We do not take the puppy selection process lightly and we only aquire top notch puppies for the program, which means an occasional longer waiting period.

Yes! Puppies are very adaptable. They will experience working for more than one trainer during their training program which helps them learn to bond to a new handler.

Yes! We offer in-person or virtual meet and greets. We do require that a deposit be completed prior to scheduling a meet and greet.

We offer extensive follow up support for all of our graduates! Unlimited phone, email or virtual support as well as in-person group classes and pack walks each month all of which are free of charge!

The puppies are named at 8 weeks of age so that we can begin name recognition training. If you are interested in a puppy but do not like the puppy’s name, we can do a name switch.

Once your puppy has finished training, we can either deliver the puppy to your home or you can choose to do the training locally in Charlotte, NC. If done in your home, there are travel fees associated with the delivery. Please see our Delivery Map for travel fees. Placement training is typically two full days of training (3 lessons daily).
